Lift Johnstown Project Party

Over 870 volunteer sign-ups were recorded at the Lift Project Party on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center.Amid music, balloons and refreshments provided by the Greater Johnstown High School and Greater Johnstown Career & Technology Center Culinary Arts Departments, community members, high school students, college students, church groups and families stepped up and volunteered for projects, non-profits, and programs.

National organizations like the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the American Cancer Society as well as local and regional programs offered through Windber Hospice, Greater Prospect Co-op, ECOKids/Learning Lamp, Best of Friends, Mountain Playhouse and many, many more recruited volunteers.

Helene Gleason of Conemaugh Health System said, "I talked to some wonderful people who really want to get involved and really want to help the community."If you missed the Project Party but would like to get involved, give back, pay it forward, or do something for someone less fortunate, contact or call 814-536-5107 and we can help you connect with a variety of organizations looking for help. Instead of family game night or working out, do something different - help out.

Be a good neighbor. Feel good about how you spend some of that "me" time.
