JOHNSTOWN, PA – On Friday, February 3rd, LIFT Johnstown honored its 14th Volunteer Spotlight Award recipients Walt Freidhoff, Dave Shoemaker and Malcolm Snyder of the Johnstown United Methodist Parish (J.U.M.P.) at a surprise presentation at the Franklin Street United Methodist Church.
LIFT Johnstown is happy to promote recognition of those special citizens who exemplify all that
volunteering embodies. The J.U.M.P. organization, led by these gentlemen, was selected by a committee that reviews and votes on nominations submitted to LIFT by members of the community.
The nomination for J.U.M.P. reads as follows:
“Walt Freidhoff, Dave Shoemaker and Malcolm Snyder of the Johnstown United Methodist Parish, have worked for years building ramps for the handicapped and performing minor home repairs two to three days per week. The J.U.M.P. organization renovates thirty to forty households per year, mostly servicing elderly community members, people with health issues and low income families. Freidhoff, Shoemaker and Snyder handle not only the administrative duties, but project management, materials procurement, volunteer recruitment and supervise and assist with the hands-on construction.”
